Kamal Haasan to contest from coimbatore in DMK alliance

CHENNAI: Kamal Haasan, a Tamil superstar and the founder of MNM, is most likely going to run for the Coimbatore Lok Sabha seat in the general election of 2024.

Given that he lost the 2021 assembly election to Vanathi Srinivasan of the BJP by a razor-thin margin of just 1,728 votes, Kamal Haasan is reportedly interested in the DMK Coimbatore seat allocation, according to official sources in the MNM.

On Sunday, Kamal Haasan officially launched MNM’s statewide outreach initiative, “Makkalodu Maiyam,” in the Coimbatore South assembly district.

MNM intends to arrange meetings with party officials and constituents in each of Tamil Nadu’s 234 assembly districts so that they can discuss pressing issues. This would entail taking into account the issues that the representatives of the people in their various constituencies have neglected to address.

A senior party official claims that the MNM will draft its electoral platform in advance of voters and on the basis of their recommendations.

The party leadership stated that in order to gain clarity on each constituency, each ward secretary has been handed a list of 25 binary questions regarding the essential facilities in their neighborhood. The answers to these questions would be utilized to fill up a Google form.

According to MNM sources, the Tamil celebrity has already been urged to run for the Coimbatore seat in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections by party members in the district.

Notably, Kamal Haasan recently gave a car to Sharmila, a Tamil Nadu bus driver who lost her job due to Covid. This was brought on by DMK leader Kanimozhi, who was riding in his bus and started a fight. As soon as Kanimozhi was questioned for the ticket price, Sharmila got into an altercation with the bus conductor. Sharmila’s employment with the bus was terminated as a result by the owner. Sharmila receives an invitation to Kamal Haasan’s home in Chennai along with a brand-new vehicle she can use for work.

Sharmila receiving a car as a present from Kamal is also perceived as an attempt by Sharmila to seek notoriety in the Coimbatore region.
