INSHORT

The West Indies tour that Suryakumar took was not very successful.
On Monday, Suryakumar hit his fourteenth fifty in a T20I.
Off 44 deliveries, Suryakumar collected 83 points.

In his cricket career, Suryakumar faced some challenges. Concerns have been expressed by viewers and analysts over his performances in the ODI series against the West Indies in 2023 and the first games of the T20I series.

He averaged 26 runs over the course of three games in the most recent series against the West Indies and totaled 78 runs. In the first game of the T20I series, where he scored only 21 runs, this senseless performance was again evident.

He only got 22 runs and had a 92 strike rate in the first two games of the India vs. West Indies T20 series. In contrast, he had previously played in 52 T20 matches, scoring 1792 runs in 50 innings, with a best score of 117 and an effective strike rate of 171.8.

The third T20I against the West Indies signaled a change for Suryakumar. Known for his resistance and ability to rebound, he put in an admirable performance that reminded everyone of his abilities.

In the first two deliveries, Suryakumar announced his entrance at the crease with a boundary and a six, and he then continued.
Even as India lost both their openers cheaply in the chase of 160, the 32-year-old didn’t take his foot off the gas pedal.

The Indian batsman finally managed to bring up his 14th T20I fifty with just 23 deliveries as the West Indies struggled to find an answer to stem the pace of the run. The 32-year-old would not stop there as he kept counting the well-known boundaries to hand India control of the match.

Ultimately removed for 83 runs off 44 deliveries, Suryakumar’s innings featured 10 boundaries and four sixes.

With Shringar in the ring and two more matches to go, Suryakumar will try to capitalize on this momentum and end the tie on a high note.
